Unfortunately the google suite is built for collaboration, so the default option is always &#8216;editing&#8217; rights. It&#8217;s a shame that this can&#8217;t be  DISABLED by default. To check your document the settings can be accessed in the [Advanced] options for sharing &#8211; top Right of each document.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/BjaPwDeAgoHqSlEHtS8ESstPAzxhw_Zc6yjZPnYVuh7K2ASQRnjcMUiP6fzQOcZcFC-yYl4CpsfX6MWIfQd_jqI_bfXkoeBPZVyZ2D4GvbZr75BgObVEqLPjfCx2JWesDQuXm482\" width=\"397\" height=\"167\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sending a document direct from Drive as a PDF (instead of as a drive share) is not only a time saver (instead of downloading -&gt; uploading to gmail), but retains the integrity of the original document .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Navigate to File -&gt; Email as attachment -&gt; Enter email address and send message as per usual.
